Structural Engineering Services

Tectonics’ leadership long ago realized that technical expertise is only one component of being effective as a structural engineer. Our considerable experience in vertical construction has emphasized  that constructability, creativity, collaboration, and communication are of equal importance. In short, we simplify the complex and find extraordinary solutions to extraordinary architectural challenges.

Materials we work with, and services we offer:

  • Tilt-up wall construction
  • Retaining structures
  • Cast-in-place concrete
  • Concrete Masonry Units (CMU)
  • Timber/Light Frame
  • Low sloped roof systems
  • Open web joist roofs, including panelized and traditional steel systems
  • Pre-Engineered Steel buildings
  • Traditionally framed steel buildings
  • Non-traditional foundation systems
  • Liquefaction
  • High load structures
  • Silos
  • Equipment anchorage
  • Insulated metal panel cladding systems
  • Due Diligence Research
  • Third Party Reviews
  • Value engineering and cost cutting
Industrial Building Design

At Tectonics, we’re extremely proud of the structural engineering and industrial building design portfolio we’ve compiled throughout the Western half of the US. We’ve become very refined in our knowledge of the distinct requirements of distribution and manufacturing companies; such as low sloped roofs, tilt-up walls, steel buildings, insulated metal panel cladding, and precast wall and building systems.  High loads as well as precise coordination has helped our architectural side excel because these components go hand in hand as we collaborate in our office.  From a cost standpoint, the vast majority of an industrial project’s budget is tied up in the structure, which means that honest and open collaboration allows us to economize and add value where needed beyond a traditional firm.  In addition, we always work hard to understand the unique site challenges presented to industrial users early on.  Between clear heights, roof loads, crane locations, pits, geotechnical and grading challenges, there are a lot of potential pitfalls.  It’s our highest priority to make sure your project not only avoids those pitfalls, but your project shines during and after construction.
